Pricing review

Pricingchecks every shelf price against what the item costs you now. It finds prices that fell behind a supplier's increase, colours of the same item sold at different prices, and items priced under your usual markup. Then it plans new prices and sends them to your ERP one batch at a time.

All markups are on landed cost, ex VAT: a price of 3.30 times landed cost is 230%.

The overview

One row per supplier, most profit to recover first:

• Markup, listed vs earned: the ring is the markup on the shelf, the dot is what your stores actually earned after discounts over the last 12 months.
• Costs went up: items the supplier charged more for at the last delivery, where the shelf price didn't follow.
• Profit to recover: the yearly gross profit from pricing to your book, one step per item, at today's volumes.

The overview is rebuilt every night and whenever you change a supplier's book or prices, so it opens instantly. Refresh rebuilds it now: on a big catalogue that takes up to half a minute.

A supplier's page

The top line is the answer: how much more the supplier can earn you a year, and how many prices go up. Below it are your rules: a markup for each kind of item (for example collars 220%, beds 200%, everything else 230%).

Every new price is listed with its reason, in three groups:

• The supplier raised the price: what they charged before and now, and what your price becomes.
• Colours priced differently: the same item in different colours gets one price, never lower than the dearest colour today.
• Below your markup: the cost hasn't moved, but the price is under your rule.

Each row reads: what changed, old price to new price, and what you gain a year at today's sales. Click a row to see how the price was worked out, step by step, type your own price, move the item to another rule, or keep its price fixed for good. Untick a row to leave it out this time.

How a price is worked out

Cost × your markup × VAT. The cost is what the item costs you landed, or the supplier's current price brought to landed cost if that is higher. Then:

• Prices end in 80 or 90.
• A price doesn't cross into the next thousand (1,990 to 2,040) unless the formula lands at least 5% past it. It stays at 1,990 and the row says “Kept under 2,000”.
• A price never goes down, and never up more than 15% at a time.
• Items being run out, and items still at cost price, are left alone.
• Changes under 2% are skipped: not worth a new label.

Roll out

Pick the rules to do first and how many labels a batch should hold. Every colour and size of an item stays in one batch, so no shelf is half done. Then Send to DK one batch at a time. Each store sees the new prices in Price changes to print and swap the labels. No ERP connection? Download each batch as a spreadsheet instead. If a price was changed by hand after the plan was made, sending skips that item.

Supplier price lists

Upload price listtakes the supplier's Excel or CSV file, even a changes-only list. STOKK matches the rows to your items by article number or barcode, shows the median change, and prices the review for the new costs before the goods arrive.
