Stokk's review
The quantities on the supplier boardcome from your stock levels, sales and delivery times. Stokk's review is the second look a senior buyer gives every line before the order goes out.
When it runs
When you open a supplier's order that has not been checked since the figures last changed, you choose first:
- Check with Stokk first: the order stays covered while Stokk checks every line, a minute or two, then opens with its changes and questions. Recommended for bigger orders.
- Stokk's numbers: the order opens right away with the planned quantities and no check. Fine for a small, simple order.
You never work on the order while Stokk is checking it. Check with Stokk (or Check again) at the top runs a check later; the order is covered while it runs, and lines you already changed keep your numbers. A check is kept for the rest of the day, so opening the order again costs nothing.
What it reads
- The supplier file and each item file: your own knowledge. It outranks the numbers.
- The supplier's terms: shutdowns, minimum order, free freight.
- Each item's sales and time in stock, month by month for the last year.
What it checks on each line
- Stores already full: stock the stores hold beyond their own days of sales counts as stock, so the warehouse is not topped up on top of it. Empty stores are always refilled.
- Demand that did not come back: an item that was out of stock, and sells less since it came back than before.
- Sales from a substitute: an item that sold more while another size or flavour was out of stock. When that one is back, this one slows down.
- Season: what the months this order covers sold last year, against what the plan already allows. Christmas is the big one.
- Fading items, one-off spikes, and large orders of slow or bulky items.
The numbers behind these checks are under Why this qty for every line, so you can see what Stokk saw.
What you see
No summary, only the lines. A changed line shows the old and new quantity and the reason; the new quantity becomes Stokk's number, you can still type over it, and Reset to Stokk goes back to it. A ? is a question for you. The Stokk notes tab lists only the lines Stokk said something about. Being in stock comes first: Stokk never lowers a line that is empty, about to run out, or was off the shelf for a good part of the last 12 weeks.
