Sell a gift card

Take the payment at the till first, the way you always do. Then open /store/gift-cards (Store Operations, Gift cards) and tap Sell a gift card. Managers can also sell from /gift-cards/new.

1. Amount and design

Tap one of the quick amounts or Other amount to type one on the keypad. If there is more than one design, pick the one the customer likes; the preview shows exactly what they will get.

2. How it reaches them

• Text message: type the recipient's mobile number. They get a short message with a link to their card.
• Email: a designed email with the card and the message.
• Show code: a QR code appears on your screen. The customer scans it with their phone camera and adds the card to their wallet right there.
• Print: a printed card with the design, the message and a QR code. Print on A4 and cut along the marks.

Add who it is to, who it is from and a message if they like, and choose Icelandic or English for what the recipient reads. For a text or email you can tick Send later and pick a time, for example Christmas Eve at six.

3. Review and create

Check the summary, tick that the amount has been paid at the till, add the receipt number if you want it on record, and tap Create gift card. The card works at once.

If the text or email doesn't arrive

Stokk retries a failed send a few times. Cards that still haven't gone out show under Needs attention on /gift-cards, where a manager can correct the number or address and send again. See Manage gift cards.
