Overview
Stokk can text your customers through your own SMS account, with your own sender name. Once it's connected, every text Stokk sends for your company goes through it: gift cards, coupons and cards, and the order texts described below.
A company admin sets it up once, in Integrations → SMS. Choose the provider (Síminn magnSMS or Twilio), enter the username and password you got from them, and the sender name customers see (up to 11 letters or digits, no Icelandic letters). Tick Send this company's texts through this gateway and save. The password is stored encrypted and never shown again.
Type your own mobile number and tap Send test SMS to check it works before a customer gets anything.
With Shopify connected, the same card has Order texts. Each one is off until you tick it:
These texts come on top of Shopify's own emails, which still go out as before. Each customer gets one text per order and event, even if the order is marked ready twice.
Write the text in the box. Placeholders fill in per order: {order} (order number), {name} (first name), {store}, {carrier}, {tracking} (tracking number) and {link} (a short tracking link). Under Store names in texts, write each store the way it reads in the sentence, for example "Epal Skeifunni" after "í".
Gateways bill per SMS part. A text with Icelandic letters (á, í, ó, ú, ý, ð, þ) fits 70 characters in one part, a text without them 160. The preview under each text counts with a real order number and your longest store name, and turns amber when the text needs two parts.
A full carrier tracking address is over 60 characters on its own, so {link}is a short link (stokkflow.com/t/…) that opens the carrier's page. The suggested texts fit one SMS:
Recent textsat the bottom of the card lists the latest texts: sent, delivered, failed or not sent, and why. The order screen shows the same for that order's texts. A text is not sent when the order has no mobile number (a landline, or no number at all). A text that fails is tried again up to four times, ten minutes apart, and delivery is checked with the gateway every few minutes.
