Extra cards on a membership
Some members don't always shop themselves: a breeder's partner picks up the food, a family shares one membership, a company has several buyers. An extra card gives that person their own card, in their own name, on the member's membership.
Turning it on
Open the membership card from Membership cards, choose Edit and set Extra cards per member (none, 1, 2 or 3). It is off until you choose a number.
Adding an extra card
Open the member's card (from the members list) and use Extra cards. Type the person's name and, if you like, their email; the card is sent there, and a QR code lets them add it to their phone at the counter. Only staff can add extra cards; there is no form for customers.
How an extra card works
- It shows the holder's own name and Aukakort fyrir (Extra card for) the member, so staff see who is holding it and whose membership it is.
- It carries the member's barcode, so your till finds the member and their discount.
- It is not a member of its own: it doesn't count in the members list (the member shows +1 extra card), doesn't create a customer and doesn't change anyone's terms.
- Cancelling the member's card cancels its extra cards too. You can also cancel an extra card on its own.
Keeping an eye on use
The members list shows when each member last bought and what they spent over the last 12 months (as of last night), so a membership used far more than expected stands out.
